POMPEII – The Saddest Natural Disaster in the History of Europe

On August 24, 79 AD, almost two millennia ago, the largest natural disaster known in the history of Europe took place: the eruption of Vesuvius volcano, which would cover with ash and molten lava three Roman cities: Pompeii, Herculaneum and Stabiae.
