THE PRINCES IN THE TOWER – The Tragic Fate of Two Royal Brothers

In July 1674 workmen employed in demolishing a stone staircase in the Tower of London made a gruesome discovery. Beneath the bottom stair, buried ten feet deep, they found an old wooden chest. Inside were the skeletons of two children; one lay on its back, the other, face downwards, on top of it. The bones were sent to the King’s surgeon, who pronounced them to be those of two boys aged about eight and thirteen.
